Kat Mackenzie, MBA, MPH, is a relentless advocate for improving health outcomes and reducing financial burden through product innovation and consumer-focused design. For more than 25 years, she has led teams charged with solving complex challenges across the healthcare ecosystem—making care delivery more effective and less stressful for consumers. Grounded in her undergraduate studies in psychology at Colorado State University and graduate degrees (MBA and MPH) from Boston University, Mackenzie integrates behavioral economics, product strategy, and operational rigor to design, evaluate, and scale impactful solutions. Her experience spans behavioral health portfolio design in the UK, enterprise-wide utilization management transformation, product redesign, and growth strategies. She brings deep expertise across government funded healthcare programs (Medicare, TRICARE, etc.) and the payor and payvider landscape, including significant experience in reimbursement strategies and value-based care models. She has led the development and evaluation of innovative solutions designed to improve clinical outcomes, reduce chronic disease spend, and align financial incentives with sustainable health improvement. Her work emphasizes measurable impact—advancing quality, affordability, and long-term behavior change.

Mackenzie previously served as executive sponsor of Humana Military’s Innovation, Research & Development Lab, partnering with TRICARE and VA populations to pilot and scale forward-looking models of care. She most recently returned to support Medicare Advantage population health management at Humana, and currently leads the Discovery & Strategic Partnerships team, where she forges collaborations across consumers, payors, providers, academic institutions, startups, and the investment community to accelerate meaningful innovation. Known for connecting disparate ideas and cultivating strong, mission-driven teams, Mackenzie fosters environments where people are challenged to think beyond the current state and toward future-oriented healthcare design.
