Bio

Cansu Canca is a philosopher andthe Founder and Director of AI Ethics Lab, one of the firstorganizations dedicated exclusively to practical and research-based AIethics consulting. She also serves as the Director of Responsible AIPractice at Northeastern University’s Institute for Experiential AI and asa Research Associate Professor of Philosophy, with affiliations to theEthics Institute and the DATA Initiative. Leading a multidisciplinary team ofcomputer scientists, philosophers, and legal scholars, she integrates ethicalanalysis into AI innovation and helps organizations design and implementresponsible AI governance strategies.

With aPh.D. in philosophy specializing in applied ethics, Cansu advisesFortune 500 companies and global institutions including the World EconomicForum, UNICRI, and INTERPOL on AI ethics and governance. Afounding editor of AI & Ethics (Springer Nature) and Chair of the IEEEAI Ethics Experts Network Criteria Committee, she has delivered over 100talks worldwide, including at Harvard Business School and the U.S. Departmentof Justice. Recognized among the 100 Brilliant Women in AI Ethics and MozillaRise25 Change Agents, she is internationally regarded as a pioneering voicein the responsible development and application of artificial intelligence.
