Bio

Edward J. Wang is a multidisciplinary researcher whose work integrates signal processing, ubiquitous computing, machine learning, biosensors, and user-centered design to advance mobile and wearable health technologies. His research aims to transform how health data is captured and used to better understand and improve human well-being. Through collaborations with clinicians and global health organizations, Wang develops innovative Software as a Medical Device(SaMD) tools and wearable sensing systems designed to expand access to health monitoring, particularly in low-resource settings.

Wang earned his PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Washington, where his dissertation demonstrated how smartphone sensors can be leveraged for large-scale health screening and chronic disease management. A recipient of the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship and the ARCS Foundation Fellowship, his award-winning research has been published in leading ACM conferences including UbiComp, IMWUT, CHI, and UIST, earning multiple Best Paper honors.
