Jordan Smoller, MD, delivered a plenary address at the 3rd a2 National Symposium at the Harvard Club of Boston, highlighting the transformative potential of the National Institutes of Health All of Us Research Program for advancing AI and precision medicine. Dr. Smoller serves as lead principal investigator of the New England Precision Medicine Consortium, co-chair of the All of Us Science Committee, Jerrold F. Rosenbaum Endowed Chair in Psychiatry at Massachusetts General Hospital, and professor of psychiatry and epidemiology at Harvard University.

Introduced by Niteesh Choudhry, MD, PhD, professor at Harvard Medical School, executive director of the Center for Healthcare Delivery Sciences at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and co-director of MassAITC, the talk was part of the session titled “Big Health Data: Challenges and Opportunities” and explored how large-scale, representative health datasets can drive more effective research. Dr. Smoller emphasized the diversity of the program’s cohort, the flexibility of its researcher access model, and the opportunity to leverage AI and wearable data for real-world impact, including in aging and dementia research.
