The a2 Collective represents the Artificial Intelligence and Technology Collaboratories (AITC) for Aging Research program, which is dedicated to helping Americans live longer, healthier lives through the application of artificial intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies.
The AITC program has earmarked $40M over the next 5 years to fund promising AI technology pilot projects that seek to improve care and health outcomes for older Americans, including persons with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (AD/ADRD). Pilot awardees may receive access to the study sites, datasets, and resources at each AITC as well as mentorship from industry and university experts, major health care systems, and venture capitalists.
The AITC program is funded by the National Institute on Aging (NIA), part of the National Institutes of Health.

America is getting older faster. By 2034, 77 million Americans will be 65 or older. They will make up the largest age demographic in the United States, outnumbering Americans under 18 for the first time ever.
The application of AI technologies will dramatically improve the health and quality of life of our nation’s aging population as well as drive innovation to our healthcare systems. The a2 Collective sits at the intersection of this once-in-a-generation opportunity.
